Associating Users With Languages and Receiving Notifications

Cloudwords allows users to be associated with specific languages. That means they would only receive translations delivery notifications related to the languages they have been associated with, as well as be assigned review tasks for those languages.

2) How notifications work

1) Selecting the languages a user is associated with

If you are a user and want to see or select the languages you will receive notifications about:

  1. Log in to your Cloudwords account.
  2. Click the Settings link that appears on top of every page. Select the My Account option.
  3. On the My Account page, you will see, at the bottom, the list of languages you are receiving notifications for. To add or remove languages, click Edit at the top of the Settings page.
  4. On the Edit page, go to the Languages area and add or remove languages.
  5. When you are done, click Save.

If you are an Administrator of the Cloudwords account and want to set the languages a user is associated with:

  1. Log in to your Cloudwords account.
  2. Click the Settings link that appears on top of every page. Select the User Management option.
  3. On the User Management page, you will see a list of all users on your account. Click on the Edit link that appears on the side of their name. You will be taken to that user's account Edit page.
  4. On the Edit page, scroll down on the page to the Languages area and add or remove languages.
  5. When you are done, click Save.

Note: You can leave the language list empty. This means that a user that is not associated with any particular language(s) will receive all email notifications regarding delivery of translations on projects they have been added to as a follower.

2) How notifications work for users associated with languages

To make the notifications sent by Cloudwords about new translations being delivered by the vendor more relevant to the users following a project, they can choose, as indicated above, which languages they want to be associated with.

These users will only receive notifications for projects they have been added to as a follower. With the additional setting of associating a user to one or more languages, they will only be notified about the delivery of any of the languages they are associated with.

It is important to note that those users associated with languages are still able to see all translations and languages for a project they are following. This means that, even though they will only receive notifications about a language they are associated with, whenever they go to the project page on Cloudwords they will be able to download or act upon any other language they have not been associated with. In other words, the languages setting has been established to filter the notifications users receive regarding translations delivery by the vendor, and not as a way of blocking them from accessing any language translation.
